Weave

Without senses, systemic investments have no feedback.

Ground truth is guesswork. Data becomes distorted. It becomes impossible to know the truth about impact. The best opportunities for action stay hidden.

When our information systems are abusive we cannot share safely. Our trust in our systems is at an all time low.

Various talents have been working for years to solve the problem. Each has a thread, a part of the solution. Sovereign identity. Verifiable credentials. Consent protocols. Federated data. Provenance, attestation, and reciprocity. But they need support to bring it together, and to integrate their work with integrity.

None of them, on their own, gives a systemic investor a sensing layer they can trust.

Weave is bringing these threads together so they can hold weight without being captured.

We provide three things:

Open by default. Sovereign at the edges. Auditable in the middle.

Evolved so no single actor can capture it, and no single failure can collapse it.

This system will allow for honest, true, clear community relationships. A substrate on which we can grow the future we wish for.

Weave is providing the soil. The mycelium grows.

We believe.

  1. 01

Identity belongs to us — not to platforms.

No company should own who we are online. Identity should be as portable and sovereign as our names.

  2. 02

    Community data belongs to communities.

The people who generate data should govern it. Communities should choose their tools — and keep their data when they leave.

  3. 03

Trust runs on shared protocols, not proprietary platforms.

We have shared standards for documents, messages, and payments. We need the same for social trust, credentials, and reputation.

  4. 04

The protocols already exist. They need coordination.

Brilliant builders have created the pieces over 25 years. The work now is weaving them — funding interoperability, running testing, iterating with the people who use them.

  5. 05

Fund the ecosystem, as well as individual projects.

Isolated projects create isolated value. Ecosystem funding creates compounding infrastructure that serves all of us.

  6. 06

Plurality is the hedge against capture.

Multiple implementations of the same protocol. No winner-picking. If one is captured or fails, the others survive.

  7. 07

This is public infrastructure — it should be governed like it.

Protocols-not-platforms means the coordination layer serves civil society and the public good. Not shareholders. Not growth metrics. Life.
